New Chapter

Audrey Vera Sweeney or Aud as known by her family and close friends, had a vibrant determined spirit that has also proved its similar likeness within her children also, her witty dry humour left us both with tears in our eyes, and the discussions about how to right the world would go on for hours this i enjoy very much and do miss now. My mother was a hard worker and the younger staff members that she would mentor when new to the job had great respect for her, she was able to get on their level so very well, mum also had great thoughts for the older members of staff that she would work alongside especially 'Eddie' among a few. I am like my mother in so many ways that now she is not here on earth as we see it, i am almost in a lost place, mum loved the humour of the Liverpool people and never forgot her background, she did not want to move away from Liverpool but my father and Mother had to, due to a housing shortage in Liverpool, and moved away for work and accommodation, thus she ended up leaving her family behind, her much loved Mother Agnus, and her beloved father William (mum was "daddys girl" as i found on one of her old childhood photos written on the back by her father) and her Brother Charlie that she adored so very much and always spoke to me about what they used to get up to as children, especially when her brother told my mum that Ringo Star wanted to go on a date, mum declined as she didn't like his big nose, this is when the group were not famous! and of course her sister Joan who is an inspiration to us all, and Mildred who sadly passed away too early and no doubt left a hole in Mums life. Mum moved with her husband Anthony (Tony) Sweeney (Father) firstly to Derbyshire and stayed in the grounds of Hardwick Hall, mum showed visitors around the estate and Dad became the head groundsman/ We moved to a few more places such as Upton-by-Chester were i was born, dad worked for Chester zoo and we lived across the road from the old side entrance, we stayed in a nice Edwardian style property until we moved again due to the damp on the property, this time we all managed to settle for some years in Welwyn Garden City Hertfordshire, a nice looking town with a lot of money spent on the infrastructure and its upkeep, this is where Mum settled in her Job as working for a large Pharmaceutical company. The area itself was filled with attractive parks and tree lined streets. Mum was a labourite and could not stand anything about the right wing, until the later stages of her life i feel she became disheartened with politics and politicians, who can blame her! Mum later moved to Lincoln, but sadly became to ill to get used to the area, i did try and get her a bungalow in North Norfolk as she loved the coast, but there was nothing suitable that she liked. I always wanted to win a lot of money so i could buy my Mum a house in Cornwall a place that she absolutely adored. We would go on holiday as a family when we children were young, and mum always said its funny but i imagined Cornwall in my mind when i was young and i had never been, or known of it before until we went on holiday years later, mum said this is the place i have had dreams about.... Cornwall (Helston) was to be her final resting place, as to her request to be scattered in the sea and air of the Cornish cost, free with the birds and the sea below. Mum loved her cat Misty-Moo, a beautiful black and white fluffy cat that she adored and stayed beside her when she first began having illness problems. Mum was a go getter, and did not like illness for herself she always would mask it. Mum wanted the best for her children and i thank her for that, she has been everything that a mum should be and more, regrets yes, i have regrets that money stopped me from providing my mother with the house and location that she always wanted, but to Mum her life was to her enriched with being with her children. This world though is not the only place there is, we are mere spectators within a human vehicle and part of a much bigger entity, we are however all consciousness and consciousness never sleeps, nor dissolves into air, it carries on with no end of time. With Love Mum, until we meet again, your loving family. XX
